04 Jul John & Tessa’s Licensing and Caroline’s Ordination

We were delighted to welcome Bishop Jo to St Mary’s as we hosted the annual licensing service of seven new Licensed Lay Ministers (LLMs) on Saturday 24 June.

A congregation of over 250, including around 20 serving LLMs were present to welcome and support the seven new arrivals including our very own Tessa & John Badcock and another 12 LLMs including John Muggleton who were receiving their renewed 5-year licenses – that’s a lot of LLMs and a lot of licenses!

Then on Sunday 2 July, the diocese’s 16 new deacons including Caroline Merrick were celebrated at the cathedral as Bishop Andrew performed two Petertide ordination ceremonies – one for Surrey Archdeaconry and the other for Dorking Archdeaconry – in the presence of hundreds of friends and family of the new clergy members.
