coloured stripes with the words Holy Week and Easter at St Mary's & St John's

Easter is the centre of the Christian faith – a story of love, sacrifice, hope and new life.

Across Holy Week we walk the story of Jesus together. From celebration and welcome on Palm Sunday,

to the intimacy of the Last Supper, the stillness of the cross and the joy of resurrection on Easter Day.

Whether you come to church regularly, occasionally or not at all, you are very welcome to join us.

Easter is a meaningful time to explore faith, return to church or simply pause and reflect.

Come to one service or journey through the whole week.

New to Church?

Why Easter Matters

Christians believe Easter tells the true story of God’s love for the world, that in Jesus, God enters human suffering, carries sin and defeats death, opening the way to forgiveness, hope and new life. Easter is the announcement that darkness doesn’t have the final word. Hope is alive.

And that hope is for everyone.
