Confirmations 2025

DIFFERENT SHADES OF BLUE WITH A DOVE ALSO IN BLUE AND THE WORDS CONFIRMATION 2025

On Sunday 22nd June we had five candidates who were Confirmed by Bishop Andrew Watson at St Peter’s Church in Hersham. It was a wonderful occassion and a real joy to celebrate this next step in their journey to knowing Jesus.

I have decided to be confirmed because over the past year, my faith has grown and has become a very important part of my life, and I will be very happy to be a confirmed as a Christian.

Jemima

I have been attending church at St John’s and St Mary’s since I was born. Over the years I often felt there was not a lot on offer for me as a young person, and as a result I didn’t always come regularly. Around December 2023 I felt drawn back and started attending church regularly. In May of 2024 I reaffirmed my baptismal vows, I feel this was a big step in my journey. Since then, attending the 4 at St Johns, doing Alpha and joining a small group where we read the bible, pray and support each other has helped me to reconnect and become more involved in the church. Being confirmed feels like the next step in my journey before I go to university.

Megan

My Nan took me to Church before Covid, which I loved.  After Covid, I got into football and netball, which took up most of my Sundays so I don’t go to church as often but I still go to The Way on a Monday evening and also one amazing way I am closer to God is Spring Harvest. I think it is a great way to meet new people who are interested in the same thing you are and you learn so much at Spring Harvest that you might not learn in a regular church. This is why I wanted to get confirmed.

Lily

I was baptised at St Marys church when I was a baby but have only recently been going to church regularly with my mum, dad, granny, and little sisters.  Faith is my trust or confidence in someone or something, including God. Sometimes not having the answers is scary, but most of the time it’s just frustrating.
