How are you doing?
The first few weeks of 2025 were some of the most fruitful weeks of our time here so far (apart from the roadtrip probably!) So we’re excited to update you on the God-stories that are unfolding. We have 3 stories and an invitation for you…
3 God-stories Unfolding…

Learning Community
We’re now over halfway through this year’s learning community, and after a frustrating start struggling to get people to commit and be present in the meetings, we were really encouraged by our last call in Feb. One of the churches, where the team have been struggling to find time to do anything for students despite feeling the God-nudge that that’s where they need to be as a church, suddenly found 2 students keen to start a student ministry by sharing Jesus with their mates and had a new missionary couple move to the church with a heart for students! We love seeing how God responds to prayer and our faithfulness to his promptings. Pray with us for Lifepoint church in Almería as they get started with student ministry!

Student Alpha
Last week we had the privilege of starting our church’s first Alpha, which we’re doing in a bar for students! We’ve sensed God calling us ‘out’ as a community for a while, so this is a step of obedience, turning our regular Friday student meetings into alpha dinners. It hasn’t been a simple process and it’s felt surprisingly radical and surprisingly contested. BUT we have 16 students signed up from outside of our community, and lots of people came in week 1 without knowing anyone – God-stories in the making already! We’ve also been raising money to put the dinners on for free through donations and running second-hand clothes markets at church and we have nearly all we need already! Please pray with us for God to move in these students’ lives over the next 8 weeks!

Retiro de Fusión
2 weeks ago we hosted our first Fusion weekend in Spain – a chance to gather people we’ve met over the years so far who we think God might be calling to play a part in this movement between church and students. We piled into a big house in the mountains near Granada for 2 days with a group of students and student leaders from Barcelona, Zaragoza, Madrid, Malaga, Seville and Granada. We shared our stories, reflected on Jeremiah’s call around the fire, talked about calling & character and shared stories from student mission history, we threw stones into a reservoir as active prayers that our lives would make ripples for the kingdom, we spent time in prayer and worship listening to God and we talked practically about what it might look like for them to take a call to church and students seriously.
Thank you to those of you who were praying for us – God really showed up!
People were challenged and provoked and we were really encouraged by what God is doing in each of them. Please pray for whatever the next steps are for each of them in pioneering in Spain and living out what God has called them to. Whether he is calling them to join our team at Fusion, partner raise a local-church student ministry role or plant churches, we know they’ll need a lot of courage and a lot of faith and a lot of provision!
One final note of something coming up…
In April (the week before Easter) we are hosting a team of students and students leaders from the UK (mostly from Fusion Movement Leader, Rich Wilson’s, church in Loughborough!) for a week of student mission in Granada.
We would love it to be a catalytic week for those who join in from Granada, those who we speak to about Jesus and also for unity in the church as we team up together, although this can be very political and complicated!
Please pray with us for conviction and guidance in the planning, that we’d partner with the right people in Granada and that it would be a fruitful week in all of the ways!
Thank you SO much for being with us on this journey. We feel we are starting to see some of the fruit of the seeds sown, starting to get to building on the foundations we have spent 4 years laying, and we are so aware that none of it would have been possible without your generosity, your belief in us and your faith in God! So THANK YOU. May God bless you today, bless you in your generosity and increase his work and his presence in you life, by his grace.
Love and blessings,
Jo, Olli and Caleb x
