Ashley C of E Primary is an Outstanding-graded three form entry primary school in Walton on Thames. We are currently seeking to expand our team of Governors with an additional two appointments, ready for the start of the next academic year in Sept 19. We have a dedicated and passionate group of Governors, including two Parent Governors, so at this time we are looking for someone without a child or grandchild at the school.
Ideal candidates might have business skills that they can apply to the role e.g. Finance, Legal, Marketing, Fundraising, HR etc. We are also very keen to appoint a Governor with a background in Education. We are proud of our Christian distinctiveness and therefore we are seeking someone with a Christian background or church link.
The time commitment is approx 1 evening and 1 breakfast meeting per term, plus time to prepare for the meetings (reading documents etc). In addition, we would need someone who can spend time visiting, and getting to know, the school, staff and children. We would require you to have a DBS check.
