Following a full interview process, we are delighted to share with you that we have appointed someone to help us develop our contemporary music at St Mary’s and St John’s.
Her name is Serene Fong and she lives with her family in Shepperton.
Serene will lead the music element of the Contemporary services, not leading the whole service but choosing and playing the music and working with Kirsty and the band at the 4. She will work closely with Esther in helping develop the 10.30 am service at St Mary’s.
Serene comes with lots of Church ministry experience. She is a pianist and she may also play at times at the St Mary’s 9.00 am
The application came ‘out of the blue’ but Serene came to meet with us both and then a team interviewed her. The interview included playing and leading in sung worship. The team was unanimous in offering her the role, which is for 15 hours a week.
We and the interview team are very excited by the appointment. Serene will join us in services on Sunday 13th September, please do say hello and join us in making her feel welcome.
