Community Café turns 3!

Three years ago the doors of the Community Café at St John’s opened with a simple hope: that this would be a place of warmth, welcome and community.

Three years on, we are so grateful for everyone who has helped make that hope a reality.

Thank you to our incredible volunteers who faithfully turn up week after week. Those who serve in the kitchen, those who bake delicious cakes and those who spend time sitting with people over a cup of tea offering a smile, kindness and a listening ear. Your generosity creates the atmosphere that makes this place so special.

We are also deeply thankful for the wonderful partners who work alongside us – Foodbank, Walton Charity, PA Housing and Citizens Advice Bureau. Your support helps us serve our community in practical and meaningful ways.

And to everyone who comes through the doors each week, thank you. The café wouldn’t be the same without you.

Community Café has always been about more than just coffee and cake. It’s about friendship, care and making sure everyone knows they are welcome and valued.

Here’s to three wonderful years, and to many more moments of community still to come.

It was fantastic to see so many people and to be joined by Major of Elmbridge Councillor Steve Bax, Rob Mills Chief Executive of Walton Charity and others from our partner organisations as we celebrated this brilliant milestone.
